Antonio Padilla-Meléndez is Associate Professor of Management (with tenure) at the University of Malaga (Spain) and managing director of the research team on "Ebusiness in Andalucia: Electronic Commerce and Teleworking".

He holds degrees in economics and business administration (BA, major in management) and business administration (PhD). He has attended postgraduate courses at the University of Oxford (UK, 2005) and Harvard University (USA, 2003) and has been Visiting Scholar in Texas A&M International University (Laredo, TX, USA, 2004), University of La Havana (Cuba, 1999, 2000), University Central of Venezuela (1999) and University Autónoma of México (2000).

He is an Editorial Board Member of the International Journal of e-Collaboration, published by Idea Group Publishing, London (2004-present),

Associate Editor of the Encyclopedia of E-Collaboration, to be published by Idea Group Publishing (summer, 2007),

and he is one of the Guest Editors of the Special Issue of the International Journal of e-Collaboration on "Creativity, Innovation and e-Collaboration". CALL FOR PAPERS

Research:

He is one of the researchers of the Research Team “Ebusiness in Andalucía: Electronic Commerce and Teleworking”, financed by the Andalusian Government. [See http://www.campusvirtual.uma.es/ebusiness/]
He has published several papers about the strategic and organizational implications of the applications of Information Technologies in the organizations. The topics include teleworking, telecenters, internet based electronic commerce and virtual organizations.

Antonio has authored various books and published in different journals including Technovation, Facilities, Journal of Global Information Technology Management, Internet Research. Electronic Networking Applications and Policy and International Journal of Technology Management. He has also published chapters in reviewed books edited by Kluwer Academic Publishers, Idea Group Inc., and Erasmus University, and papers in Spanish reviewed journals such as Economía Industrial, Estudios Turísticos, Alta Dirección, Investigaciones Europeas de Dirección y Economía de la Empresa, Revista Economía y Empresa, Revista Esic-Market, BICE, Revista Europea de Dirección y Economía de la Empresa, and Información Comercial Española. Revista de Economía.

He has presented papers in several international Conferences, such as the International Management Development Association Conference (IMDA, Granada, Spain, 2005), the Academy of Management Annual Meeting (New Orleans, Louisiana, USA, 2004), the Berlecon Workshop of the Economics of IT (Berlecon Research, Berlin, Germany, 2003), the 2nd IFIP Conference on e-commerce, e-business and e-government (Lisbon, Portugal, 2002), and the Global Business Management Conference (Paris, France, 2002).
He is a member of the Academy of Management, the European e-Business Support Network for SMEs – eBSN An eEurope 2005 action (European Commission) and the eBRN. Ebusiness Research Network (Erasmus University).

He has been co-Chair, with Ned Kock (Texas A&M International University, USA), of the E-Collaboration Track of 2006 Information Resources Management Association International Conference. 17th IRMA International Conference. May 21-24, 2006. Wyndham Hotel, Washington D.C., USA.

Teaching:

He teaches mainly Management Control Systems in the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration.
He teaches also in Doctoral Programs and in professional Masters with courses related to Management and Information Technology.

He is also one of the academic coordinators of Socrates-Erasmus European program in the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration.

Consulting / Professional activities:

He has been consultant for some public entities and businesses and director of some Postgraduate programs in Algeciras, Jerez de la Frontera, Baeza, Huelva and Málaga. He writes usually in professional journals as Vida Económica.
